We have a great career opportunity for an Engineer who has worked within Business Improvement and Performance Analysis to join one of the biggest players in renewable energy and landfill gas. This role will be challenging, instrumental and with excellent prospects to develop and progress.

The Company

My client is a leading renewable power generator and the largest generator of landfill gas in the UK. They operate a portfolio of landfill gas plants across the UK. In view of the challenging decarbonisation targets adopted by the UK government by 2020, they have a unique opportunity to play an active role in building out the UK renewable power generation capacity requirements over the coming decade. They believe in a very autonomous and adult environment where all employees are given the freedom to manage their workload to achieve targets and results.

The Role

The role is to assist the Operations team in managing the performance of the business and carrying out business improvement projects across the organisation. The key objectives of the role are:

  • Utilise planning knowledge to improve functions within Logistics, Maintenance and Contractors through management and completion of multiple simultaneous projects
  • Produce progress reports and metrics on Excel spreadsheets and diarising quarterly reviews to monitor progress against project start dates.
  • Streamline all schedules of works by analysing maintenance rotas to achieve a reduction in wasted labour and by aligning the work of Contractors and House Technicians across multiple sites.
  • Convey confidence in vocalising opinion to assist creation of new structure of department and give input in how all tasks should be tackled to achieve business success
  • Use excellent communication skills to engage with multiple departments in the business by successfully leading meetings and presentations
The Person

Ideally, you will;

  • a minimum of 3 years experience as a Performance Planning or Business Improvement Engineer in a multi-site technical environment
  • Have previous experience as a hands-on engineer
  • Have involved in managing projects
  • Have excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Have a good understanding of Business Improvement principals and Lean processes
  • Have the ability to communicate and lead meetings/presentations with multiple stakeholders on multiple sites
  • Be prepared to work unpredictable hours, as and where the work demands
