Job Title: Internal Sales & Administration

Reporting to: Internal Sales Manager

Purpose of the Role:

The main purpose of the position is to deal with incoming sales calls, process sales orders and enquiries. Assist customers at the trade counter and offer sales and product advice and assistance to customers. There will also be a requirement to deal with suppliers in relation to product information and specification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The candidate must have a positive attitude to sales and customer service and the ability to work in a pressurised environment.
  • The role will require the candidate to:
  • Interact with customers, colleagues and suppliers in relation to product and specification requirements
  • Cash sale counter sales
  • Dealing with phone and counter enquiries
  • Process incoming sales orders, quotation requests and enquiries
  • Maintain orderly records of all quotations and orders received via phone, fax or email
  • Support external sales team
  • Work closely with colleagues on the internal sales desks across all product portfolios
  • Maintain orderly work space
  • Scanning and filing duties in relation to completed sales orders
  • Have the ability to sell our product range to potential customers

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2/3 years' experience of internal sales or sales administration, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge / previous experience of internal sales packages an advantage
  • IT skills associated with Microsoft excel packages (word and excel)
  • Stock Management Procedures

  • All duties and tasks are undertaken and performed in an efficient, accurate manner resulting in excellent service provision
  • Sales order input accuracy
  • Completion of cash sale processes
  • Quotation and project files up to date and in order
  • Efficient and timely customer responses
  • Internal sales targets
  • Internal Margin Targets

RELATING TO PEOPLE INTERNALLY

Close working relationship with the colleagues in both the internal and external sales teams, purchasing and transport/warehousing. Communicate with colleagues in other subsidiaries.

RELATING TO PEOPLE EXTERNALLY

  • Develop relationships with customers through phone contact and counter service.
  • Coordination with external sales team.
  • Engage with suppliers in relation to product, technical and support enquiries
