Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Location: Loughton, Essex


Kier Construction London are looking to recruit a Communications Coordinator to support the Communications Business Partner and to co-ordinate communications both internally and externally, ensuring consistency of message and brand protection.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Communications Business Partner (CBP) in the delivery of Kier Construction London's communication plan.
  • Ensure that all communications, internal and external, adhere to brand, style and messaging guidelines and represent Kier values.
  • Prepare and circulate basic Kier Construction London (KCL) Newsflashes and provide a support function to the CBP in the preparation and circulation of more in depth Newsflashes and the Company Newsletter.
  • Responsible for coordination of all photography needs including project completion, site events and corporate events.
  • Assist in the preparation of large presentations.
  • Prepare and circulate KCL's contributions to various Kier social media channels.
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain an up to date Communications Calendar.
  • Responsible for Hard Hat Media TV screens on site - prepare and upload material. Coordination of screens moving from site when project is completed.
  • Responsible for Kier Connect boards on sites (purchasing, sending material, liaising with sites).
  • Responsible for collating new starter information for monthly Comms profiles for Newsflash
  • Update Contract awards monthly, info source and create monthly newsflash with this information.
  • Provide Business Development support by sourcing material for Project Completion Case Studies, liaising with team when booking completion photography (discuss important parts of build for future tenders) and distribute photos to team once received.
  • Provide general Communication support to all staff by providing essential templates (site newsletters, departmental booklets etc.) and all other communications as required on time and to brand.
  • Work alongside different levels of seniority and departments to help create Comms to best suit their material/message.
  • Events management - assisting to arrange all aspects (catering, photography, gifts, attendee directories) for topping outs, ground breakings, project launches etc.
  • Liaise with the CBP in respect of external articles and press coverage. Source relevant material as and when needed.
  • Assist in the collation of information for the production of Awards entries.
  • Provide general admin and assistant support (taking calls, calendar entries etc.) to the CBP as and when needed.
  • Work as a collaborative member of the Kier Construction London team, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practice across the business.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to a Degree level in relevant discipline such as communication, marketing, media, journalism or a related discipline would be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • Experience gained working as part of a Corporate Communications or Marketing team in a significant-sized business.
  • Experience should include responsibility for obtaining and collating information prior to producing documents and/or other materials within brand and style guidelines
  • First class communications skills (written and oral) plus an aptitude for document layout and graphic design are essential.
  • Advanced InDesign skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle software system and Photoshop
  • Must be confident, outgoing and personable but with the tenacity required to obtain the necessary information from busy colleagues.
  • Knowledge of social media and non-printed forms of communication is essential.
  • Should have excellent time management skills and be comfortable in meeting regular deadlines.
  • Needs to be fully conversant with Microsoft Office products including Word Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop would be an advantage.
