Our client is a well-established market leading company involved in the design, manufacture, installation, service and repair of equipment and plant for the waste recycling industry.
They are looking to recruit a skilled Installation Engineer (Mechanical Fitter) on a permanent basis.
Installation Engineer / Mechanical Fitter - Main Roles & Responsibilities
You would typically be responsible for erecting conveyors and material handling systems including balers, shredders, compactors and other machinery used in the waste recycling industry, along with carrying out repairs and servicing at customers sites. Duties would include the marking out, alignment and levelling and the fixing down of equipment.
You could also be responsible for supervising a small team to bring projects in on time.
You should be experienced in slinging/rigging and working with mobile cranes and there supervision. Working at height training/experience is essential. Trained in the operation of Telehandlers and MEWPS would be advantageous. Fabricating and welding skills required as is mechanical fitting and the use of engineering hand tools.
The ability to work to engineering drawings is essential as is a good understanding of health and safety at site; the following certification/training would be advantageous
* CSCS
* CPCS
* Risk assessment and method statement preparation.
* Contractors passport to safety.
* SSSTS
* Working at height
* Tool box talks and on site induction.
You will be liaising with the client and project manager on projects; therefore good communication skills are required.
All PPE is provided by the company
Although the client is based in Northamptonshire by far most of the work is at customers sites across the country and entails being away from home for periods of time, regular (every week) stays away from home. A company van is provided. Regular Overtime x1.5 (inc travel)
