Location: Tempsford, Bedfordshire
Kier Infrastructure runs a pre-construction team of c. 35 people from our Head Office in Sandy. We tender for a range of infrastructure works including roads, nuclear & conventional power, rail, marine, airports and the like with values generally ranging from £40m - £1bn. We require a senior planner to join this team.
You will report to the Planning Manager and your role will be to assist in securing a potentially profitable work stream for the business by undertaking the planning and associated work on bids. This will include aspects such as those listed below:
- Develop outline programmes to inform key early strategy
- Work closely with the bid manager, estimator and design manager to fully understand the needs of the project
- Develop construction methodology
- Prepare a planning strategy that addresses client needs, commercial aspects, programme opportunities and risks etc
- Prepare suitable programmes which are fully logic linked and resourced.
- Production of 4D programmes by linking to 3-D models
- Present the programme to internal management, clients and stakeholders
- Provide support at handover of awarded projects
You will be:
- Competent and confident in the technical aspects of planning
- Experienced in a wide variety of contracts and construction methods
- A good communicator and team player
- Able to work to deadlines
A mix of site and pre-construction experience based generally around heavy civil engineering projects would be advantageous.
