We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic projects.
We are now recruiting for a General Operative Operative to join our Highways team in Retford to report to the site Foreman/Ganger.
Key Responsibilities
The role has a focus on surface treatments contracts on the UK highway network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking site operations as directed and could include operating of vehicles or plant (where trained and competent), using codes of practice and in compliance with Kier policies and all health & safety regulations and procedures. Establish good working relationships with Foreman/Ganger, Agent/Supervisor, and other works colleagues. Take ownership and communicate any issues on site and carry out your responsibilities in an efficient and safe manner.
What do we need from you?
- Experience in Surface Treatments and Highway Maintenance Industry
- Commercial awareness
- Have reasonable written and numerical skills
- Full UK Drivers Licence
- Hold CSCS (Red Card) and working toward NVQ Level 2
