We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Strategic and Local Highways.
We are now recruiting for a Bridge Inspection Manager to join our Highways team in Birmingham to be responsible for developing, delivering and managing the bridge inspection programmes in accordance with CS 450 - Inspection of Highway Structures.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage progress of the principal, general, special and asbestos management inspection programmes. Request quotations and raise task orders for specialist inspection and site investigation sub-contractors appointed to carry out principal inspections and inspections for assessment. Liaise with the assessment team to ensure defects/structures are appropriately analysed and investigated.
What do we need from you?
- Hold a relevant civil engineering (degree or similar)
- Have Extensive experience of highway structures inspections in accordance with BD 63/07 and CS 450
- Demonstrate knowledge in structures asset management (including design and assessment)
- Understand the relevant highway standards and documents related to bridges/structures
- Can work independently with minimal supervision and take project ownership for delegated duties as well as demonstrate mentoring skills
- Are able to carry out risk assessments and method statements for direct reports in accordance with company processes and procedures.
