What to expect in this position

  • Supporting commercial objectives of specialist business areas to create awareness of their market offer and capabilities to an external audience
  • Work as part of a team to define key messages to the external market, developing communications plans for each specialist business
  • Work with teams from each unit to source news and content for external and internal communication
  • Work with the Laing O'Rourke corporate team to ensure the specialist unit communication aligns with wider communication and strategy
  • Help to define website strategy
  • Support the Digital Communications Manager with social media strategies for a consistent approach
  • Work with and support the Head of Communications, proactively securing media opportunities for specialist unit spokespeople and projects.
  • Showcase the specialist capabilities of the business units and their technical capabilities

What would help you in this role?

  • Experience of working in corporate communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience of preparing press releases, news articles, website and social media content; either in a written, video or audio context
  • The ability to create and manage internal and external relationships at a peer and senior leadership level
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts or clients
  • Video production, highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the UK media landscape and press office experience, desirable
  • Degree or experience in a relevant field such as corporate communication, , journalism, marketing or similar field.

The role requires travel to sites for gathering content. There are a few locations that can be used as the main office for some advice and support. We offer a good annual salary (To be discussed at the application stage) and a market leading benefits package.
