Due to continued client demand a leading planning consultancy are expanding their team within their London Offices, recruiting for an aspiring Principal/Associate level Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of leading Planning firm with exciting career prospects.

With offices across the UK, with their head office based in central London, with the team working throughout London and the South East for a range of both public and private sector clients.

The team is looking to continue to grow and diversity its portfolio of work and would welcome applications from candidates with a range of planning experience across the sectors, with particularly strong skills in residential and commercial development being preferred, but we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable skill sets and other forms of planning experience also.

General Job Requirements:

Associate Directors are required to lead on projects and manage their own workload as well as supporting Directors. They are supported by junior members of the professional planning team and have a high level of client contact and business development responsibility. Timely and thorough attention to both projects and clients is a key responsibility.

The role requires a candidate with a strong development management background to support the ongoing workload of applications, appeals and site representations.

Key roles:

  • Responsible for managing projects/clients. Associate Directors report to the Office Directors whilst winning new instructions for which they have a large measure of responsibility.
  • Manage the workload of junior professional staff members, assisting them on individual projects.
  • Undertake marketing and business development activities.

Person profile

The candidate will be:

  • Able to develop and maintain working relationships with key clients.
  • Help mentor and manage more junior members of the team.
  • An MRTPI qualified Town Planner.
  • Experience working in the London area, within the private sector.
  • Numerate with the ability to write in a clear and concise manner
  • IT literate with good skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Organised and punctual.
  • A full driving licence and Membership of the RTPI is essential.
