Catfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with an established Sustainable Energy Consultancy and they are looking to recruit an Energy Officer on a permanent basis located in Lifford, Ireland. (near Strabane, Northern Ireland)
Job description
Our client is a leading independent energy company in Ireland. The aim of this particular role is to accelerate the development and energy management systems and investment needed within local authorities and put them into a position of achieving energy efficiencies of 50% and reducing their carbon emissions by 50%.
The successful candidate will be working directly with Local Authorities contributing to the achievement of the ambitious 2030 Local Authority Climate Action Targets.
Energy Officer - Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Supporting local authority energy teams to deliver on energy/emission objectives.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
* Assisting with energy/emission monitoring and reporting requirements.
* Supporting the local authority energy teams in ensuring energy/emission statutory obligations are met.
* Assisting in the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction measures.
* Climate Action Legislation.
* Working with the local authority communication team to communicate the energy/emission initiatives and savings at conferences and workshops.
* Supporting the integration of low-carbon energy policy into local authority plans.
Energy Officer - Experience & Qualifications
Required:
* NFQ Level 8 Degree in Energy, Engineering, Building Services or equivalent
* 2 - 3 years' experience in an energy or related role
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately identify and quantify energy saving and emission reduction opportunities
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to guide, actively listen and influence others
* Report writing skills and ability to communicate findings to a non-technical audience
* Strong proficiency of MS Office programmes including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
* Full clean driving licence and car
Desirable:
* Understanding of ISO 50001 and how to implement and maintain the system
* Understanding of local authority sector's obligations in relation to energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets
* Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of stakeholders
* Ability to work with a team and on own initiative and to be able to follow instructions and adapt quickly
* Experience in drawing packages such as CAD
