Are you looking to start a new career with a great company? We are looking for an Electrician to join our skilled team of Operatives in our Hire Division based in Birmingham. In this role you will refurbish and fit out the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards, specialising in electrical work. As well as aftersales, rectification and problem-solving work.
Role Details
- Hourly Rate: £15.32ph + additional hourly rate between £0.27 p/h to £4.53 p/h based on skill set and behaviours.
- Role based: Portakabin Limited, Potterton Way, Smethwick, B66 1AT
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
- Hours of Work: 39 hours per week, 0745 to 1630 hours Monday to Thursday and 0745 to 1530 hours on Fridays, with 45 mins for lunch each day (unpaid)
Role Responsibilities
- Apply lean principles and techniques to help and contribute to your team delivering and exceeding our KPI targets.
- Understand and apply the electrical principles and works associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to encourage and maintain zero harm environment and culture.
- Design and install electrical systems incorporating all types of electrical materials, ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.

As applicable assume responsibility as the qualified supervisor and therefore oversee all testing requirements for the Hire Centre.

Conduct fault finding and undertake rectifications of existing systems both on and off site.

Assist where required in the general fitting out and refurbishment of Portakabin buildings both on and off site.

Ensure reconditioned fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / Indentures (or AM2)& City & Guilds 2360 or* NVQ Level 3 electrical installation,
City & Guilds 2380/2381 (IEE Wiring Regs - 18th Edition) or* JIB Card - Electrician (Must include IEE Wiring Regs 18th Edition),
* City & Guilds 2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification,
* Full driving license,
* GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent grade),
* Strong skills to Establish good relationships with customers and staff, building effective networks,
* Ability to work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way,
