We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join Kier Water. The main purpose of this role is to assist to the Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide management for an allocated programme area of an embedded alliance contract. Managing a small team of commercial professionals, you will be accountable to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the commercial management of the allocated programme area, fostering close working relationships with all key stakeholders, adhere to the embedded alliance internal governance contract, provide transparent, accurate and timely commercial reporting, as well as adopt and consistently employ the agreed commercial management systems and processes.

You will also be responsible for engendering a culture of commercial challenge, controlling costs, maximise value and minimise future liabilities. You will demonstrate the highest levels of commercial integrity and financial self-assurance and identify, report and assist in the proactive management of financial and commercial risk and communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage and mitigate commercial disputes.

What do we need from you?

You will have excellent commercial acumen and a willingness to travel. You will have a good understanding of NEC3 forms of contract and a thorough understanding of relevant construction and contract law. Due to travel requirements you will need to have a full UK driving licence.

Ideally you will have experience working in a complex matrix team environment and have the relevant qualifications, such as RICS, CIOB, ICE, and a degree in construction or commercial management.
