Key Responsibilities

As a Bid Manager, you have overall responsibility for managing bid proposals across all groups of Utilities (Water, Power, Gas, Telecoms), maximising conversion rates. Ensuring compliance with internal governance, developing a winning strategy prior to tender, and developing submissions with bid teams to ensure clients are provided with commercial and technical submissions within deadlines, to an industry leading standard.

You will be responsible for implementing business-winning bid plans to secure new business opportunities for Kier Utilities, working the business development team, MDs, and operational, estimating, and commercial teams in achieving their targets.

In this role, you will manage bid strategies for everyone to understand their requirements and timescales as well as managing Client relationships. You will lead workshops and to develop bid strategies and key messaging and produce monthly reports against the bid pipeline.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a background working for a main contractor or consultant, and experience within the utilities business sector.
You will have the ability to specify, review and edit bid content from engineering and other professional personnel.

In this role, you must have strong people management skills, you will be able to lead a winning team and be a team player. You must have strong communication, organisational, and time management skills, with good IT knowledge and knowledge of InDesign or similar platforms.
