We are working with a manufacturer of steel framed modular buildings who seek a Design Manager for their factory based in the East Midlands. The role will be a key position, working closely with the Estimating function to ensure their continued success in winning contracts and managing their execution to ensure time, budget and quality standards are maintained.
As Design Manager you will be working in close cooperation with other functions within the business, while providing a supportive leadership role for your CAD Technicians. Whilst there will be an element of hands-on design, you are primarily managing your team and their workload.
In addition to the liaison with your colleagues, you will also be in close contact with Subcontractors, Clients and Architects, both to ensure project progress and to provide technical support.
This will be a role that ensures continuing innovation, as you will be involved in R&D and developing Revit and BIM for your design function.

An experienced CAD Design Manager who is able to listen and learn from your team about the specific products
In possession of good leadership skills, more of a motivator than an authoritarian
Qualified in Construction or similar Engineering degree, or with suitable equivalent experience and knowledge
Able to read and produce construction drawings to a high degree of accuracy and detail
Well-versed in Building Regulations, Eurocodes, British Standards and JCT and NEC contracts
Able to use AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office (or a combination of these)
Knowledgeable in BIM
Experienced in the offsite construction industry (eg modular buildings, light gauge steel, volumetric or similar)
In possession of a full UK Driving Licence
