Design Technician required for specialist engineered timber products supplying the construction industry. As part of the Design Team based in Northampton, you will be working on designs for various timber products.

Your role will be:

  • Preparing drawings and document packs for issue
  • Liaising closely with clients and external consultants
  • Ensuring your drawings and cutting lists are produced to a high degree of accuracy, working from architectural and engineering drawings


About you:

  • Ideally experienced in designing engineered wood products (eg floor joists, stairs, I-beams etc)
  • Proven communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness, keen to ensure you are contributing to the profitability of the company
  • Educated ideally to A-Level standard or above and strong IT skills (able to use AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office)
  • Able to handle working under pressure and with a number of tasks at any one time
  • Although experience is preferred, we would like to hear from you if you have a technical educational background (eg product design or similar), as training can be provided
