We are seeking a CAD Designer / Estimator for a Subcontractor, who supplies and installs specialist prefabricated timber panels, working in a diverse range of projects, including schools, residential, commercial and public buildings. Their team provides expertise in specialist engineered timber construction from design concept to on-site completion; their collaborative working approach with the whole project team enables them to develop sustainable and cost-effective structural solutions when involved at the earliest stages of the design process. They provide a solution that is second to none, and their projects are always a little different and quirky as you would expect from projects using this timber-based building system.
You will be modelling information received for the bid process, converting drawings into documents to generate quanities, so you will need to be able to interpret drawings and visualise in AutoCAD 3D. We would like to hear from you if you have design / technical experience from a Construction Subcontractor so you are likely to have a good understanding of first principles. Construction experience is the key here, and if you want to work in offsite construction, this would be a great place to be. It's also a role that will need interaction with your clients as you will be following up quotes/estimates you have submitted.
