Position: Fabrication/ Manufacturing Supervisor
Salary: Neg DOE
Location: Columbus
The Job:
This position leads crew members in our manufacturing facility. Persons in this role must know every job in the shop and be able to train others on machines and roles. Supervises fabrication operations and coordinates between fabrication/installation activities. Keeps work flow moving at all times and fill any position when needed
Responsibilities:
- Correspond with supervisors and other team leads for maximum production
- Demonstrate understanding and motivational skills for crew members
- Exhibits proven knowledge in all shop machinery functions
- Diagram and blueprint reading skills
- Ensures all parts/materials are accounted for
- Shows organization in employees and materials for each job/task
- Checks proper maintenance is done on machines for proper working order
- Help fill-in wherever is needed
- Empower employees to work independently and together whenever needed
- Makes sure there in consistency in workflow from start to finish
- Ensures everyone is working in a safe and timely manner
- Makes sure lines stay moving
- Staying a step ahead to guarantee everything runs smoothly
- Train new employees
- Make sure all employees have PPE on
- Always be available
- Collect timesheets on weekly basis (if applicable)
- Stay organized
Requirements:
- 4+ years of construction/fabrication experience preferably in glazing or glass industry
- Preferably supervisor/lead experience
- Have a track record of excellence
- Capable of expressing thoughts, ideas, and technical information as well as resolving conflicts
- Effective communication skills
- Work well under pressure of time constraints and changing expectations
- Experienced in reading/analyzing construction and project management documents e.g., building plans/specifications, contracts, safety codes and budget sheets
- Recognize basic engineering and architectural principles in structures
- Manages shop crew and motivates individuals and teams to achieve maximum efficiency
- Speaking English
- Provide high quality work
- Organized, responsible, and reliable
- Punctual, committed, and hard working
- Concerned with job safety
