Position: HGV Articulated Truck Driver

Our client is a Galway-based, family-owned and managed company providing waste collection services across the domestic, commercial, industrial and building sectors. Their complete waste management service incorporates the collection and safe disposal of solid and liquid waste.

The company employs over 70 team members and due to continued investment and expansion are now looking to recruit an experienced and professional Arctic to support their organisation.

HGV Articulated Truck Driver for delivery of waste materials in walking floor trailers to various outlets in Ireland & Northern Ireland. Works can also include vacuum tanker and tipping trailer work. This position requires a dedicated and responsible individual who values safety, reliability, and teamwork

Responsibilities:

Operation of Articulated Truck: Safely and efficiently operate the Articulated Truck, in compliance with company and industry standards.
Safety: Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to traffic regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the truck, reporting any issues or defects promptly.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any maintenance or service performed on the vehicle.
Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their needs and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as spills or blockages, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and protect the environment.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members, including technicians and dispatch, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Qualifications:

Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) license with Category C and preferably Category C+E.
ADR (Dangerous Goods) certification (desirable but not mandatory).
Excellent driving record with a focus on safety.
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varying hours and respond to emergency call-outs.
Working Day Five over Six (Monday to Saturday).
