A fantastic opportunity has become available in our Kier Highways Maintenance Team for a Highways Maintenance Operative based in Strensham. The main purpose of this role is to deliver Routine, Winter and Reactive Maintenance as directed by the General Foreman. It also includes Renewal Schemes within our Operational Capabilities, carrying out a variety of manual and non-manual highway maintenance duties as instructed on a day to day basis to ensure the efficient running of the network. Appropriate Training Certificates/Cards/Tickets must be held by Individuals engaged in the activity they have been instructed to carry out.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide the safe installation of Traffic Management layouts in accordance with the appropriate drawings and instructions
  • Under direction of the Lead Installer, carry out Inspection, Maintenance, Repair and Renewal of Road Restraint Systems
  • Respond to incidents and emergency situations as directed by the General foreman or Team Leader.
  • Take part in Severe Weather effort and Incident Management by being on appropriate Standby Rotas.
  • Ensure accurate daily, weekly and monthly records and reports are completed on time in order to meet commercial/payroll, safety, defect/incident management and environmental requirements
What do we need from you to be successful in this role?

  • Highway Maintenance experience
  • Winter Maintenance NVQ and experience
  • Incident Management Experience
  • Able to work on own initiative to resolve problems effectively
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Adaptable and flexible to cope with the variety of responsibilities involved and to suit peaks and troughs in workload
Appropriate Qualifications

  • 12A, B, D Lantra Certificated
  • TMF/LTMO Certificated where appropriate
  • CSCS accreditation for level of post
  • Full Driving licence (LGV License preferred)
