We work as part of a Framework delivering reactive repair and maintenance services across the regions in the South West, whether it be responding to fix a water leak or replacing a main on planned works, we will be there ensuring we complete the works in a safe and timely way.
About the role
In this exciting role, you will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, alongside a range of operational teams such as systems, mechanical and electrical technicians. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for installing, modifying and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, and to diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants. Proactively identifying and reporting follow on work or areas for enhancements, improvements to assets and systems will be key.
You will be required to carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance and installation on a variety of waste assets including planned, and reactive tasks, whilst liaising with suppliers at all times. Another key part of this role will be investigating plant failures and the implementation of subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the water treatment process. Additionally, you will be conducting point of work risk assessments and create appropriate method statements when required to safely carry out maintenance activities.
What do we need from you?
To be successful, we are looking for someone who holds a good, practical understanding of operational plant and control systems. You will have knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs, as well as the ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams. An understanding of wastewater treatment processes would stand you in great stead to be successful for the role along with experience in the calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
It would also be ideal to be qualified to HNC level or City and Guilds Part2 or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical subject and due to the nature of the role a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
