Quantity Surveyor/Estimator - Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire
We currently have a requirement, as part of a retained assignment, for a Junior Quantity Surveyor/Junior Estimator to join a consultancy based near Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire. This role is an exclusive position with Brickwork as we are working "in house" with our client, meaning that this opportunity will be strictly unavailable through any other source.
Our client is a growing, structural engineering firm with an ever-increasing presence across the South of England. Well-established, they are now embarking on a period of significant growth in line with an ambitious business plan which has recently led to the opening of their second regional office. They boast a positive atmosphere and creative culture, aided by a young, "hungry" team that is currently developing under the tutelage of several experienced Directors.
On the back of opening their second regional office, they have identified the need to hire a Junior Quantity Surveyor cum Junior Estimator to take ownership of bids/tenders and to adequately advise potential clients on costings from the significant number of queries that are being received. An individual with previous experience as a Assistant Quantity Surveyor or an Trainee Estimator would be ideal but our client believes it is also key to hire someone with some level of technical knowledge; much of their work is in new buildings and domestic alterations and thus hiring an individual with some knowledge of construction processes should give them a better understanding of the scope of works for each query received/bid issued. On that basis, they will also consider someone who has trained as a Building Surveyor who has a good mind for numbers and is interested in a slightly different role. Due to recent substantial growth, at time of writing they currently have over 100 queries awaiting response including several PQQs.
The skills you'll need:
- At least 12 months previous experience in a relevant junior position such as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Building Surveyor.
- Relevant construction/surveying/engineering qualification/degree is desirable, not essential.
- Eligible to work in the UK and local to the West Wiltshire area.

On offer
Depending on your level of experience, our client is offering a basic salary of between £23,000 and up to £30,000 per annum plus a benefits package comprising pension, annual bonus and various other flexi benefits.
