Kier is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with significant recent experience of managing operations within the Rail sector - a person who is willing and able to become an integral part of a successful delivery team. The Rail business operates Nationally and is looking to expand its capability and geographical presence as a tier 1 contractor working for Network Rail and other Rail clients.

The post holder must be mobile and location-flexible to cover a range schemes and both pre- and post- contract meetings across their area. The post will be based in a mixture of offices, project sites and home.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of delivering to Rail clients and strong management experience with the ability to motivate and develop people with the necessary expertise and skills to meet or exceed required performance standards, whilst ensuring there is an effective resource strategy in place to support business growth. You will hold a UK drivers licence and have a degree or HNC level civil or electrical engineering qualification and a good understanding of; Network Rail suite of contracts, NEC3 terms and conditions, RMM2, CESMM and Network Rail standards.

Ideally you will also hold an IOSH/NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate and have a working knowledge of planning software (Primavera P6 optimal) and Considerate Constructors scheme. It would also be great if you have a solid network of industry personnel and hold a membership of a relevant professional body.
