Job Title: Fire Door Carpenter

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Van and Fuel Card
Location: North or South London
I am currently working with a well established passive fire company who are looking for a Fire Door Carpenters to join the team in a long term role either working withing South or North London. This role will be working for one of the largest Councils in London focusing mainly on Flat Entrance Fire Doors.
Good progression is available to further your career into supervision, management and higher.
As an FRA Carpenter in the Fire Team you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out door upgrade work and installing certified fire door sets across housing properties.
- Ensuring all work is compliant with the fire door regulations.
- Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor for Passive Works and working within a small, specialised team.

The role will support the Safety and Compliance Specialist - Fire and wider Building Safety and Compliance team on all fire safety matters
Utilise technical expertise, experience in passive and active fire measures, in depth practical knowledge of fire risk assessments and risk mitigation's.
Responsibilities include
- Promote a positive collaborative culture of building safety and compliance
- Work across the Building Safety and Compliance team with an emphasis on fire safety elements
- Responsible to deliver the right outcome for our customer in a safe and timely way
- Proactively identify any upcoming changes in legislation's, regulations and landlord responsibilities to ensure SNG compliance
- Review the design of new builds as presented by our development team to ensure that it is suitable and sufficient in line with RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) plan of works
- Provide technical support across to the fire safety team on passive and active fire installations
We are looking for someone who has
- Experience of working to deadlines and achieving targets through own work and work driven through teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Up to date knowledge of fire safety legislation
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fire safety subject matters within the Housing Sector
Qualifications and experience
- Membership of the IFE / IFSM or an equivalent membership body
- Up to date knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations
- Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety
- Award in Practical Fire Risk Assessment such as IFE of CS Todd
- Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues (e.g. reconciliations)

Repairs Planner

The Repairs Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating repairs and maintenance works to ensure efficient use of operatives' time, prompt service delivery, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The role involves managing incoming repair requests, prioritizing workloads, allocating appointments, and liaising with residents, contractors, and internal teams to ensure repairs are completed within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule repairs, maintenance, and void works to ensure operatives are fully utilized and jobs are completed on time. Allocate jobs to the appropriate trade operatives based on location, skills, and availability. Monitor progress of work orders to ensure completion within target response times. Communicate effectively with tenants, operatives, supervisors, and subcontractors to provide updates, resolve queries, and manage expectations. Maintain accurate records of appointments, completed works, and follow-up actions using the housing management or scheduling system (e.g., DRS, OptiTime, Northgate, etc.). Respond promptly to emergency or urgent repair requests, reprioritising schedules as required. Support performance monitoring by providing accurate data and reports on job completion, no-access rates, and productivity. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting solutions to improve service delivery. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and organisational policies.
