Position: Planner

The opportunity:
Kier Construction Western & Wales is looking for a Planner to join its highly successful team based in Bristol. With numerous recent awards spanning over the next few years and incredible turnover figures, the team is looking to grow with a mid-level Planner ideally healthcare experience (although this is not essential). You will join the team working on a recently won hospital project plus a specific oncology unit. Key responsibilities:
  • Understand the constraints, logistics, any site-specific requirements and clear all doubts that may rise from reading the tender documents/drawings.
  • Explore requirements of Client and incorporate the same to provide a competitive edge
  • Preparation of programme and method information for inclusion in submission document as per the tender deliverables requirement.
  • Attend tender handover meeting, review the methodology and programme strategy and describe potential target that can be achieved, any ideas for improvement on time and cost.
  • Develop the tender programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme in co-ordination with the site management team.
  • Communicate programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way with stakeholders and the Project Managers and generate and realise teams
Key skills and qualifications:

  • Holds the relevant qualifications (i.e. minimum of HNC/HND in relevant discipline)
  • Proficient in the use of ASTA Powerproject and Sketch Up
  • Comprehensive programme delivery experience and experience in risk identification and assessment
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme
