Catfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with a globally respected R&D company that is looking to recruit a Production Engineer to their expanding team on a permanent basis.

They have an opportunity to recruit an experienced and motivated Production Engineer within their Design and Manufacturing Department, reporting directly to the Team Leader.
You will be part of a small team, responsible for delivering effective and efficient Production Engineering to the larger department, which meets the schedules and costs of designated projects, as well as contributing to
estimating (pricing) and technical assessment of customer requirements in support of the Project Manager.
The successful candidate will monitor progress within the Manufacturing department of planned production in real - time, organising and updating parts lists (that form the complete status and record of the
project BOM), and communicating with Project Managers and other key company project stakeholders (technical managers, Riggers, EA Systems, etc.) in order to ensure that production plans are integrated across the company.
Additionally, responsible for active involvement in, and improvement of, sub-con management processes.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the drive and commitment necessary for ensuring that work is completed in line with challenging schedule requirements whilst maintaining a clean, safe working
environment. To succeed in this position, you must be flexible in your approach to working hours, which will require shift working, and able to respond quickly to a changing workload.

Production Engineer - Key responsibilities:
Project Bid phase:
* Develop D&M pricing sheets, in conjunction with the Project Manager and other members of the Production Engineering and Design teams.
* Fully participate in development of D&M Project Schedules, including identification of strategic sub-contracting requirements.

D&M Project delivery phase:
* Co-ordinate and liaise with project Design Engineers regarding Design and Manufacture (D4M) techniques.
* Liaise with project Design Engineers regarding pre-issue drawings to meet project schedules.
* Set up and update the project parts list weekly
* Monitor and record the progress of parts being manufactured within the Manufacturing Dept.
* Monitor delivery of sub-contracted parts against schedules and quality requirements.
* Attend Project Launch Meetings, contribute to engineering reviews and contribute to wash-up meetings.

Production Engineer - What do we need from you?
* Extensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques with a bias to precision and bespoke parts.
* Demonstrable working experience of 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC programming and operations.
* Working understanding of CAD tools.
* Sound understanding and experience of delivering Continuous Improvement and influencing change.
* Experience with working with subcontractors, project management methodologies and tools.
* Experience of 5S and lean manufacturing processes as well as MRP systems.
* Gain an In-depth knowledge of company products or equivalent high precision one-off prototypes
* Ability to work and forge relationships with team members, colleagues, customer and suppliers
* Ability to work under pressure, drive results, and flexible to respond to changing priorities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, IT literate and highly organised
* Able to trust and support direct supervisors
* Drive and commitment to improve own skills, and receptive to new ideas/ways of working
