Project Manager Required - Structural & Architectural steel - £50,000 - £60,000

Our client is leading supplier, manufacturer and installation contractor to the structural and architectural steel industry, with coverage Nationwide and sites across the UK. They operate from a head office in Leeds and are currently looking for a project manager from a similar background on a permanent basis.

This is an office based position, but you would be expected to have involvement with a number of projects across the country at any one time, and would need to be available to travel to site visits and meetings.

There is progression available with this role and we are ideally looking for a motivated candidate who would look to work towards a contracts director position.

The role will involve the following duties :-

  • Managing and monitoring projects through all stages from outset to Final Account.
  • Working as project lead alongside a Senior Draughtsman, Quantity Surveyor to deliver projects successfully within budget, programme and to a high standard.
  • Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals.
  • Report work progress and budget matters both internally and to clients.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists.
  • Select, schedule, and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
  • Comply with current Health & Safety legislation and requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.

Our client is looking for a candidate who displays the following skills and accreditation :-

  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Logical thinking and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of budget control and commercial matters.
  • The ability to work well with others and lead a team.
  • A good understanding of business.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to the project, previous experience within the architectural/structural steelwork sector is a must.
  • Good IT skills, and the ability to work with a project planning / management tool like MS Project.
  • CSCS Manager or Supervisor Card
  • SMSTS
  • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations
