Location: Basingstoke - The role will be predominately based out of our Basingstoke Office but from time to time there will be the requirement to attend project sites and be part of Client lead review meetings

Contract: Permanent, full time
Kier Places is recruiting now for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to increase efficiencies, reduce cost, drive profit and manage risk in a safe and ethical manner for our MoJ and Home Office Technical Services contracts. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Senior QS to provide robust commercial support to meet Kier's medium to long term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for producing accurate tender evaluations of values between £100k - £1m; manage enquiries and disputes for invoicing, billing process, valuations, tenders; produce monthly contract valuations / confirm completion of milestone objectives for Larger Projects; produce accurate profitability reports and monthly detailed Cost plans for the Senior Quantity Surveyors approval. You will also be responsible for producing subcontract agreements for all contracts above £250k, and then subsequent management of the Apps and Certs approval process.
What do we need from you?
Have you got what it takes to join us as a Quantity Surveyor on our team working for the MoJ and Home Office Technical Services contracts? The ideal candidates will have a Quantity Surveying degree with quantity surveying experience within the Construction or Government FM industry - minimum 2 years; experience of working on or producing estimates from the National Schedule of Rates; full confidence in accuracy of estimates/tenders produced; extensive understanding of Subcontract agreements; and the ability to manage and assist with the development of our Junior QS.
