The Job:

The Sales Manager's purpose is to seek, contact, and negotiate with potential customers as well as to attain sales for the Company. They work to gain new business and have an overall grasp of their home market. This person is goal oriented and is committed to the company and its services.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Estimating Department ensuring all bids are produced competitively, accurately, and profitable
  • Establish a formal sales/marketing plan with marketing and operations
  • Achieve budgeted sales and profits within parameters of Company goals
  • Produce annual sales forecasts
  • Work with contractors and developers to value engineer and budget prospective projects
  • Review all drawings and project conditions prior to bid
  • Plans, controls, develops, and coordinates the sales activities of the company to produce the targeted profit and sales goals
  • Keeps the Director of Operations informed in a timely manner of the progress of the jobs being estimated/bid
  • Completes in an accurate and timely manner all assigned special projects
  • Promotes Anderson Aluminum's Products and services to architects and contractors
  • Procures bidding documents, delivers and reviews with Estimator
  • Works with Estimator on vendors, suppliers and specification requirements
  • Writes quotation and scope letters to builders
  • Responsible for timely follow-up to bid proposals and tracks status with customer
  • Ensures all estimating, contractor and contract information is handed over to Engineering & Project Management
  • Ensures SOV and estimate is turned over to accounting 30 days from contract being received
  • Meets with Engineering and Purchasing in turn over meeting to present the order
  • Maintains an accurate change order log and provides timely estimates to accounting estimates for change orders so job costing is kept accurate on a monthly basis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering
    • Engineering degree dealing with building/construction is preferred
  • OR Highschool Diploma/GED with 5-8 years of Sales Manager experience with a glazing contractor for industrial and commercial business
  • Experience in glazing industry through fabrication or field erection and installation is highly preferred
  • Knowledgeable in glazing industry and the elements that are required to produce a proper estimate
  • Ability to produce annual forecasts and obtain those goals
  • 8-10 years of experience managing sales activities in industrial/commercial glazing
  • Strong leadership abilities
