The Role
The Production Manager will manage the production, test, inspection and stores functions within the company, ensuring that work is carried out to defined processes as laid down in the company's standards. Responsibilities include:

  • managing the production facility to achieve production targets fulfilling customer requirements
  • managing the resources within the production area to ensure cost effective practices focusing on quality and on-time delivery
  • continuously improving processes and systems to achieve quality standards and customer satisfaction
  • achieving an efficient working environment through the development of production staff and processes


The Company
Our client is a successful design / software / PCB assembly house that produces and develops innovative class leading products, also selected sub-contract work for high profile companies. The business is currently developing a range of new and exciting products to further expand their client base.


The Person
The successful Production Manager will be able to read and understand assembly drawings / production instructions and be conversant with the construction of electronic products. With experience of surface mount and conventional soldering, you will also have:

  • knowledge of programming and operating automated tooling e.g. Wave / Pick & Place / Selective Wave / AIO
  • experience in production scheduling / delivery of products
  • experience in Quality Systems / continuous improvement planning
  • experience in setting up / maintaining processes
  • an understanding of ERP software / Microsoft Word and Excel
  • City and Guilds 224 Part 1 & 2 and relevant management qualification
  • supervisory / people management experience


You will be required to set up and manage department objectives, deliver against the company plan as well as ensuring all core production KPIs are measured and achieved whilst liaising with customer in regard to queries, product information and technical requirements.
