7.5 Tonne / Grab Driver - Operative

Location: Heigham, Norwich

Contract: Anglian Water

Kier Utilities are looking to recruit a 7.5 Tonne / Grab Driver Operative who will report to the Site Supervisor. The post holder will be working with teams on the Anglian Water contract for planned works.

Responsibilities:
  • To drive commercial vehicles complying with Kier operating procedures.
  • To ensure daily checks are undertaken on the vehicles used and complete the relevant forms associated with the checks
  • To ensure that the 6 weekly checks are completed on the vehicle used.
  • Assist teams with the backfilling of excavations within the highway and private.
  • Keep an accurate log of all activities carried out in the day and submit to the delivery agent.
  • Collecting fittings from the local storage area's and taking to the gangs.
  • Collecting fittings from site and retuning to the storage area, keeping a record of both fittings used and returned.
  • Ensure materials returned to the depot are properly and safely stored.
  • To ensure that safe lifting and working practices are observed and appropriate protective clothing is worn at all times
  • Ensure all company Health and Safety requirements are adhered to
  • Remain in contact with the Supervisor / Office Staff to be responsive to operational needs.
  • Be available for overtime working when the need arises - usually planned and agreed in advance.

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
    • Full UK driving licence and LGV Cat C (HGV2) is essential for this role
    • Experience of or ability to demonstrate suitability for work involving lifting of recycling boxes, other materials, and vehicle checks, including oil, water, and battery levels
    • Knowledge of correct lifting practices
    • Ability to navigate using maps and books provided
    • Knowledge of local area where work is undertaken (beneficial)
    • Effective team work
    • Excellent customer service
