Job Title: Legionella Risk Assessor
Location: South London, East London & Kent
Salary: Up to £38,000 w/ Van and Fuel Card

Daniel Owen are currently working with a successful company who are seeking a Legionella Risk Assessor to work across their contracts.

Responsible for carrying out legionella risk assessments in accordance with current legislation, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP L8), and HSE guidance documents (such as HSG274). The role involves inspecting water systems, identifying potential risks, and providing clear recommendations to ensure compliance and safeguard public health.

Legionella Risk Assessor Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legionella risk assessments on a variety of sites including commercial, industrial, healthcare, and residential premises.
  • Inspect water systems (e.g., hot and cold water, cooling towers, evaporative condensers, process water systems) to identify potential risks of legionella bacteria proliferation.
  • Produce detailed, accurate, and compliant risk assessment reports with clear recommendations for remedial action.
  • Advise clients on control measures, management plans, and monitoring regimes to ensure compliance with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
  • Work may involve access to confined spaces, plant rooms, and working at height (training and PPE provided).

Legionella Risk Assessor Requirements:

  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualification in Legionella Risk Assessment (preferred)
  • Demonstrate experience in conducting legionella risk assessments.
  • Full UK driving licence (required).
  • Strong technical knowledge of legionella control and water hygiene.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and guidance (ACOP L8, HSG274).
  • Excellent report writing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and client-facing skills.
