Our client is looking for an Electrician to join their team in Worthing, to install solar panels on domestic social housing. The ideal Worthing-based Electrician would have experience working on Solar Panels and hold a valid JIB Electrician Gold Card.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Talk to clients and customers, carry out the work and put their needs first
- Leave homes clean and safe and get tenant signatures when you've finished the job
- Work closely with colleagues in your team and build relationships with the wider Liberty team
- Drive and take good care of vehicles
- Keep a record of your activities and deliveries
- Experience in installing, testing, and commissioning domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Competent with DC and AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding
- Familiarity with remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps
- Strong understanding of H&S protocols, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)
- Compliance with UK building regulations and DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements
- Report faulty appliances, installations or equipment which do not meet safety regulations
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and correctly using any safety devices and practices
- Handle transport materials safely
- Look after tools, materials and equipment so they don't get lost or stolen
- Report finds of asbestos through the Liberty's Asbestos Procedure
- Work in different environments including in confined spaces or high up where you'll need to use ladders and scaffolding
- Assess, plan and request the materials you need to carry out the job
- Use measuring equipment to make calculations where you need to
- Work from written and verbal instructions, including drawings, diagrams and sketches
- Use the tablets will be provided making sure you capture all aspects of your work
- Carry out all aspects of electrical works including;
- Trace, diagnose and rectify faults
- Carry out routine safety checks
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Carry out programmed installation works
- Repair / replace electrical fittings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to travel regionally (or nationally depending on the role)
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required:
- You have GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and English
- You have served a recognised Electrical apprenticeship and/ or appropriate full electrical qualifications
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations)
- Must hold a 18th Edition I.EE
- MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
- PAS 2030 familiarity (for roles involving retrofit or funded work)
- G98/G99 understanding (grid connection regulations)
- Solar PV Qualifications, including one of the below:
- City & Guilds 2399 - Solar Photovoltaic Installation (now discontinued but still recognised)
- LCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Solar PV Systems
- BPEC Solar PV Installer Course ECS Gold Card qualification
- You are experienced and competent in all aspects of the Electrical discipline, and own a full set of appropriate tools
- You have a sound geographical knowledge of the local areas (Desirable)
- You have experience of working within a social housing environment and understand how the sector improves people's lives (Desirable)
- Confident working in confided spaces
- You have appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- You understand what good customer care looks like, and aim to deliver the best customer experience every day
- You can work on your own as well as part of a team
- You work on you own initiative and use common sense to solve problems (Desirable)
- You're a good communicator You have good organisation skills and a flexible approach
- You're punctual, and delivering on your promises is important to you
