Head of Health & SafetyDublin (travel across European project locations required) Role Overview The Head of Health & Safety will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all Health & Safety (H&S) activities across our European project portfolio. This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing a consistent, best-in-class safety culture that protects employees, contractors, clients, and the public. The successful candidate will drive compliance with legislation, set corporate H&S strategy, and ensure excellence in execution across diverse project environments.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy

Develop and implement the Group's Health & Safety strategy, policies, and procedures across all European operations.

Foster a proactive, zero-harm culture, ensuring H&S is embedded in all aspects of project delivery.

Act as the primary advisor to the executive board on H&S risks, trends, and performance.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with local, national, and EU-wide H&S legislation, regulations, and best practices.

Establish robust auditing, monitoring, and reporting processes across all sites.

Drive standardisation of H&S processes and systems across diverse jurisdictions.

Operational Oversight

Oversee project-based H&S teams, providing coaching, leadership, and development.

Conduct regular site visits across Europe to monitor safety practices and support project teams.

Lead investigations of incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned are implemented across the organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal teams to promote collaboration and alignment on H&S priorities.

Represent the company in external forums, industry bodies, and with regulatory authorities.

Continuous Improvement

Identify emerging risks, trends, and innovations in construction safety.

Champion digital tools, training, and initiatives that enhance safety performance.

Measure and report on KPIs, driving accountability for safety excellence at all levels.

Key Requirements Proven track record in a senior H&S leadership role within the construction sector, ideally with international/multi-jurisdictional experience.

Chartered membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).

In-depth knowledge of European H&S regulations and standards.

Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to engage at board level and with on-site teams.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive safety culture across large, complex project portfolios.

Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.

Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages are advantageous.
