Health & Safety Manager - Distribution (Site-Based Hybrid)

Location: Andover

Salary & Package: £70,000 basic + £6,000 car allowance, plus package.

Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time

A leading infrastructure delivery partner is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their distribution team based in Andover. This is a site-based role focused on driving health, safety, quality assurance, and environmental excellence across a busy operational environment.

This is a senior opportunity to take ownership of a major power framework in the South of England, leading on the delivery of high-profile substation projects that strengthen the UK's energy network. You'll be at the forefront of large-scale infrastructure upgrades, ensuring safe and efficient power distribution for communities and businesses across the region. It's a role that blends strategic leadership with hands-on project delivery, giving you the platform to shape how critical energy assets are built and maintained.

You'll lead a small team, mentor junior advisors, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations. The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and manage HSQE Advisors, supporting their development.
  • Review CDM documentation and support operational teams.
  • Lead task analysis, risk assessments, and method statement reviews.

Qualifications & Training

Essential:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Level 3-6 or equivalent)
  • IOSH Membership (GradIOSH or Chartered)
  • EUSR
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of safe working methods and site operations
  • Strong project background within Transmission & Distribution, Utilities or Civil Engineering
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft 365 & HSQE systems)
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime when required

Desirable:

  • Experience in infrastructure services and CDM compliance
  • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon reduction practices
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
