Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Co-ordinator to take a leading role in the pre-construction phase of a diverse range of construction projects. The successful candidate will manage the development of high-quality design and technical information, ensuring outputs meet programme, budget, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Project Co-ordinator
Pre-Construction & Design Management
Manage the full design development process.
Lead tender launch meetings, ensuring all information issued to estimators aligns with Employer's Requirements and reduces risk.
Prepare well-considered contractor proposals and support technical elements of tender submissions.
Programme, Approvals & Compliance
Develop and maintain robust design programmes to ensure timely, accurate, and budget-aligned information flow.
Obtain quotations from consultants, Local Authorities, statutory bodies, and utility providers to form accurate fee schedules.
Secure early approvals for planning conditions, building regulations, and any other statutory consents.
Obtain technical approval for Sectional Agreement works.
Coordination, Communication & Relationships
Build strong working relationships internally and externally, including time spent on site to understand project constraints.
Act as a key driver in transforming technical data into useable information that supports programme objectives.
Support the production of 'as-built' documentation at project completion.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical support to Assistant and Trainee Project Coordinators.
Promote best practice in pre-construction processes and overall project coordination.
Person Specification
Essential:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of value management.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Recognised building or construction qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience with a contractor in a design, technical, or pre-construction capacity.
Ability to work collaboratively or independently as required.
Desirable:
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Knowledge of Highway Authority (HA) guidelines.
Experience using Power Projects or similar programming software.
