Protocol is pleased to be working alongside an educational establishment in Canterbury, who require a Programme Leader in the Building Services department for a position starting ASAP. The college are looking for a candidate to provide academic leadership of designated courses with a key responsibility for ensuring the design, delivery and evaluation of programmes which are attractive to students, career-related and which promote student independence, with new technology playing an important role in enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

We are keen to hear from candidates that use innovative teaching techniques to motivate and inspire learners.

To be suitable for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria;
*Hold a relevant teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS or CTLLS).
*Hold a minimum level 6 qualification in respected trade.
*To provide academic leadership of designated courses, ensuring a curriculum which is attractive, relevant and coherent;
*To ensure the close monitoring of student performance and to take swift intervention with those students identified as at risk of not achieving;
*To lead the quality assurance of the designated courses in close liaison with the awarding body / validating institution (university), adhering to all required administrative procedures;
*To deliver high-quality teaching and learning that supports and challenges students to make substantial and sustained progress;
*To lead curricular development within the designated courses with specific reference to design, monitoring, evaluation and review.
*To work in close co-ordination with the Head of Department to provide academic leadership for the designated subject area(s);
*To support the Head of Department in co-ordinating the day-to-day operational management of the designated programme(s), including staffing and timetabling;
*To role model appropriate behaviours and manage student behaviour.
*To support, and where appropriate discipline, students in line with college procedures for example attendance, punctuality and behaviour;
