Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist / Senior Buyer - Housing
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 + Car Allowance, amazing benefits

A large multi-national group are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to developing & maintaining the category strategies ensuring suppliers are managed to meet business requirements.

This household name are backed by decades of experience in the financial services sector with particular expertise of residential and property financing around the globe. Their knowledge of the housing market is unrivalled and they have already invested in a large scale, fully equipped Modular Housing Factory to deliver their own fully in house solution.

Now poised to enter the market with a revolutionary product and compete with national developers, this business is driven to attract the very best candidates to deliver their projects.

The Role:

  • Using appropriate purchasing tools develop the sourcing strategies & refresh regularly to reflect changing market conditions & business requirements.
  • Execute sourcing strategy
  • Negotiate contracts in line with the terms
  • Actively manage supplier contracts, acting on supplier performance data to ensure suppliers perform & implement proactive action where performance does not meet expectations.
  • Conduct value engineering exercise with suppliers
  • Support the development of customer proposals providing commitments on supplier costs & negotiate contracts in line with these commitments.
  • Development a segmented approach to supplier relationship management. Define the relationship management plan for each supplier & ensure the appropriate contracts are engaged in line with the plan.
  • To proactively engage suppliers in the product development programme identifying opportunities for suppliers to develop new products & technology which will make our products more competitive.
  • To maintain an active record of supplier risk exposure, proactive manage to mitigate & report as required to the Board.


Qualifications:

Degree & / or recognised purchasing qualification CIPS/MBA
Knowledge of contract law

Knowledge, and Experience

Experience of developing category strategies using best practice tools & techniques
Excellent relationship management skills
Experience in negotiating complex issues
Experience of ERP systems & Sales & Operations planning
Supply chain management experience within the housebuilding market in advantage
Project Management experience including risk management
