Our projects are predominantly in London, the South East and East Anglia, and encompass new stonework, as well as restoration and conservation works on castles and cathedrals, national monuments, churches and abbeys, private properties, offices and public buildings.

We are now looking to recruit a full-time Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the expanding team being based from our offices in Essex.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven record in the construction industry and in a management role

  • RICS accredited, post graduate within a Quantity Surveying degree or similar

  • Valid CSCS

  • Excellent analytical skills are essential, as are numeracy, literacy and communication skills in English

  • Computer literacy in MS Office, Project

  • Ability to train & manage others

  • Holder of a full UK Drivers Licence

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of pre-tender and tender submissions - financial and commercial presentation

  • Procurement of subcontractors including negotiation of contract sums, terms and conditions

  • Production and pricing of bills of quantity from drawings and specifications

  • Understanding and application of construction contracts including dispute resolution

  • Negotiation of contract terms/conditions

  • Meeting agreed targets

  • Production of interim and final valuations and agreement of account

  • Liaising with clients and creating new client relationship
