Breedon Group plc has an opportunity for a Concrete Production Manager looking after eight ready mix plants in the Home Counties area. You will be responsible for the following concrete plants: Banbury, Cambridge, Huntingdon, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Willington and Woodham.
You will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and production within your region.
You will be expected to directly manage and coach Plant Supervisors and Reliefs to ensure that operational sites are run safely, efficiently and that the concrete supplied is to the customer's specification.
You will also need to ensure that all operational sites comply with all internal company procedures and policies that have been set out as well as legislative compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that operational sites run safely in accordance with Company policy, procedures and standards
- Ensuring site event plans are in place and relevant
- Ensuring that the monthly safety pack and toolbox talks are rolled out
- Recording and resolving near misses/unsafe acts
- Ensuring that all internal and external inspections/audits are carried out and any resulting actions are resolved in a timely manner
- Carrying out a monthly inspection at each plant within your area of responsibility
- Ensuring that regular preventative maintenance is carried out
- Ensuring that any bulk order numbers are raised correctly in order to minimise AP queries
- Compiling and submitting a report on a monthly basis
- Managing costs in line with your budget
They are looking for someone with relevant industry experience and a working knowledge of Production, Operational, Commercial and Distribution processes. It would be an advantage if you also have a working knowledge of health, safety and environmental policies with some technical knowledge.
