Location: Loughton
Kier Construction London is looking to recruit a HR Business Partner, who will report to the Head of HR. The successful post-holder will be responsible for the provision of an innovative, effective and customer focussed HR Service within Kier London.
The role will also have HR Coordinator reporting in to them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering the People Plan for the business area in conjunction with the HRD, Head of HR Operations, and business leaders
- Working closely with customers to implement people plans locally within contracts
- Ensuring the delivery of customer centric and business supportive HR service
- Facilitating the recruitment and assessment process for roles in the business area
- Facilitating HR programmes in conjunction with the Specialist HR team e.g. performance management, policy implementation etc.
- Working with HR Specialist team and the management teams to facilitate succession planning and coaching for leaders and potentials
- Helping to drive performance throughout the business through MI provided directly by HR Shared Services
- Working with the Senior Managers and the Learning & Development team to drive up line management capability and self-sufficiency to ensure the transition of ownership of day to day people management
- Initiating and leading HR projects to meet HR plans in conjunction with the Head of HR Operations and line customer
- Working proactively with the business and the HR Shared Services Team to ensure there is a positive Employee Relations environment and strong levels of employee engagement in the business region
- Co-coordinating and managing Employee Relations activity in the region, supporting and facilitating contentious issues that have escalated or that involve senior management
- Establishing and maintaining positive working relations with Trade Unions
- Working with the business Learning & Development support functions to ensure training needs are identified and addressed
- Management responsibilities for direct reports
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Holder of a Full UK Driving Licence
- Holds the relevant qualifications (i.e. CIPD qualified)
- Previous HR Business Partner or HR Management experience
- Proficient at developing and managing change programmes across a business
- Sound knowledge of policy implementation, performance management, and employee relation
- Previous involvement of working within a HR Shared Services model would be highly beneficial
- Strong commercial awareness, business understanding, influencing skills and flexibility
- Ability to deal with contentious issues
- Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work across teams to provide a seamless customer experience
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage with and influence a range of stakeholders
