Architectural Design Manager
Location - South Wales
£££ Salary - Up to £50,000 + Car
Britain's oldest independent manufacturer and supplier of permanent offsite buildings; are on the lookout for an Architectural Design Manager to join their ever expanding team based in South Wales. Their steel framed modular system is fabricated off site which can then be clad in traditional finishes to create permanent buildings. Their key markets are healthcare, education, commercial business, defence and custody solutions to name but a few.
The Architectural Design Manager is responsible for leading the Architectural Design Team of designers supporting the sales and commercial teams, by creating conceptual turn-key designs for a full range of modular and offsite construction projects. Reporting in to the Head of Technical Services and in their absence to the Operations Director/Deputy Managing Director.
DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES
- Allocate and oversee all work given to architectural designers
- Manage, mentor and support the architectural designers
- Create concept building designs
- Submit and disperse planning applications
- Provide design support / advice to the sales and commercial teams
- Liaise with clients and clients agents on new and ongoing projects
- Visit sites and keep abreast of latest trends and technology
- Attend feasibility meetings to agree / accept briefs for new projects
- Work within defined company QA procedures
- Support in the development of new products and services
- Any other duties that may be agreed from time to time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a good working relationship within the department, clients and other departments
- Manage, mentor and support the Architectural Design Team members in the daily work load as well as holiday planning, training etc.
- Deputise for the Head of Technical Services when required to do so
- Maintain the ADT's work schedules ensuring concepts, designs and planning applications are prepared correctly to the brief and on time, including meeting all applicable regulations and ensure buildability
- Work outside normal working hours of business if required to meet deadlines
- Keep up to date with Building Regulations and other legislation, disseminate that information to other members of the team and business where required
- Sign off concept designs and pass back to the sales and commercial teams
- Ensure that departmental records are kept up to date and in accordance with QA procedures
- Review departmental training and software needs and ensure that these are adequate and up to date
