Title: Signalling CEM
Location: Tempsford, Bedfordshire
To manage the Signalling Civil Construction teams technical requirements of a project and liaise with appropriate departments to ensure timely execution of the projects. To ensure Site Managers are assigned to projects and have the correct training, skills and experience and fulfil the project site needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as main contractor in the management of schemes where delivery is solely by external subcontractors
- Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality matters are managed on all project sites under his control.
- Liaising with Project Managers, Designers, Commercial Team and Programmers to ensure smooth delivery of the schemes programme
- From close working relationships with the scheme designers and subcontractors as well as colleagues within the integrated team
- Developing a schemes works programme Ensure all weekly and monthly reporting requirements are met by the site management teams and communicated to the relevant Managers
- Assisting the commercial team in setting scheme target costs
- Liaising with statutory undertakers in programming any statutory undertaker's equipment diversions
- Ensuring compliance with current CDM (Design Management) regulations
- Ensure that key business targets and KPIs are met and wherever possible exceeded. Also any potential problems are identified at an early stage and plans initiated to mitigate risk
- Provide regular information on the progress of schemes and performance of subcontractors.
- Help plan for and allocate appropriate supervisory resources as required by the site management team.
- Provide immediate and early warnings to the Project Manager on problem issues and potential major over spends as soon as they occur
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- PTS, SMSTS, CSCS, COSS/SWL1
- Previous experience in a similar role
- High level of knowledge and proven experience in the delivery of projects
- High level of ability, advanced knowledge and competence
- Capable of dealing with a variety of issues
- Proven ability, confident in dealing with complex issues
- Must hold exceptional communication skills
- Able to demonstrate inspiring leadership
