A supplier and manufacturer of portable modular buildings, site accommodation, prefabricated buildings, secure steel buildings, on-site sanitary solutions, and portable offices in all shapes and sizes for short term or long term use.
Job Role
You Will
- Prepare layout tender drawings and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD of both steel anti-vandal and modular units for client issue and for use within Sales and Production.
- Work closely with sub-contractors e.g. M&E to ensure that the products offered integrate neatly within the modular buildings.
- Assist with the maintenance of an effective in-house CAD system, administer software solutions to the team i.e. implement REVIT for BIM.
- Continue the development of a robust BIM strategy to roll out throughout the company.
- Liaise regularly with Sales, Production and external clients/architects by telephone and email regarding project specifications.
- Provide detailed advice and guidance in response to technical queries whenever they arise.
- Where required attend design meetings to ascertain client requirements and provide advice accordingly.
- Maintain accurate drawing records and information database of anti-vandal and modular unit products.
- Keep up-to-date on information regarding current Building Regulations requirements and other associated statutory guidance.
- Carry out research and provide advice on matters of product development as necessary.
Person
To be successful in this role you must be
- Qualified to a Degree or HND/HNC level in a construction or engineering related discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- A minimum of 5 years' AutoCAD experience.
- Post AutoCAD 2010 experience.
- Additional qualifications in CAD software.
- Experience in the use of Revit BIM software.
- Ability to produce accurate working construction drawings.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- A broad knowledge of building materials and their properties
- An ability to demonstrate understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
- Excellent planning, organising and time management skills.
- The ability to meet competing deadlines in a calm and professional manner.
- Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work on own or as part of a team.
- Ability to carry out further training and development.
- Working knowledge of current Building Regulations and their application to the Company's products.
- Understanding of Planning Application and Building Regulations process.
- Experience within a similar organisation
