SHE Training Coordinator
Location: Loughton Part time - 3 days a week Purpose of the Role


The SHE Training Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role within the Safety Health and Environment department within Kier Construction London. The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and timely training coordination to site and office based staff within budget and safeguarding all S,H & E requirements to ensure legal conformity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Attend Kier Group SHE Training Co-ordinators Meetings
  • Produce Monthly SHE Training attendance requirements report for Kier Group SHE Training Manage
  • Provide a Monthly SHE Training attendance report for inclusion in the KCL SHE Board report
  • Produce annual budgetary analysis reports including costs associated with non-attendance and cancelled courses
  • Set up and fully administrator internal and external SHE training course
  • Liaise with internal and external training providers to ensure training material for courses as required as provided
  • Arrange requisitions for external training provider & external training venues
  • Arrange venues, set up training rooms, ensuring all equipment is available and working
  • Produce accurate and timely joining instructions for all courses.
  • Accurately input and updating of the training databases (Taleo & Excel Spreadsheet)
  • Keeps accurate records of training programs, materials and participants attendance
  • Produce attendance certificates for every SHE training course
  • Produce and maintain a register of SHE training feedback
  • Provide for each member of staff an annual SHE training attendance record
  • Arrange SHE training attendance around the KCL SHE Training Requirements Plan
  • Maintain the outlook calendar & email account to ensure consistent SHE training communications
  • Assist with the creation and delivery of all SHE initiatives, campaigns and events
  • Respond to questions about SHE training programs and events
  • Be seen as an authority of information, hub of support, an ambassador for SHE training
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Holiday and sickness cover for the SHE Training Co-ordinator as required.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as related to the role.

    • Strong client/customer service skills.
    • Accurate and consistent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships with all Kier staff
    • Perform problem solving as needed
    • Take full ownership of tasks to see jobs through
    • Timely communication of information relating to SHE Training attendance
    • Manage, evaluate & prioritise multiple tasks to achieve expected outcomes and deadlines
    • Familiarity with training systems or proven ability to quickly learn software applications preferred
    • Work independently in resolving issues and escalating as appropriate
    • Attention to detail and high quality standards
    • Proactive in managing responsibilities
    • Ability to work effectively with KCL Project Teams, Kier Group and external training providers.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries.
    • Ability to deal with change management relating to cancellations and non-attendance at short notice.
    • Ability to deliver and perform under pressure
    • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and Power Point

    The Person

    • An ability to manage constant change including cancellations and rearrange attendance of events at short notice.
    • Ability to manage multiple sources of information to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
    • Demonstrates assertiveness and resilience when faced with challenging situations and establish an effective working relationships at all levels
    • Experience of multi-tasking, prioritising and meeting deadlines whilst dealing with a varied workload demonstrating strong organisation skills
    • Good standard of English - both oral and written
