Kier Construction Major projects are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join the team. This role will provide the opportunity to develop in to a Buyer, Senior Buyer and beyond.
Job Description
- Working under Project Procurement Lead.
- Update and accurately maintain project procurement schedules.
- Entering data onto in-house computer systems
- Arranging for documentation to be scanned and uploaded onto the in-house computer system
- Dealing with incoming Supply Chain questions/requests
- Carrying out small level sub-contract tendering and procurement.
- Any ad-hoc tasks as required
Individual:
- Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Access Database and procurement systems preferably Oracle an advantage
- Good telephone Manner and organisational ability.
- Excellent communicator and ability to multi-task and action concurrently.
- A Team Player but able to work with minimal supervision
- You should be honest and reliable and must work well under pressure
- Adaptable to change, approachable and conscientious and willing to accept ownership of tasks.
- Ability to deliver accurate data.
- Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality
- Ideally working towards HNC Level in Construction
