Trainee Electrician
Kier Utilities is looking to recruit a Trainee Electrician, who will report to the Panel Shop Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for gain a thorough working knowledge in order to be competent at carrying out all electrical tasks safely and in line with policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage fully in all aspects of the learning process in order to become fully qualified to ultimately undertake electrical instillation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner
- Learn to set out electrical installations in an appropriate and efficient manner
- Learn to produce accurate material lists in a timely manner to facilitate timely procurement
- Gain a thorough working knowledge of the current IEE Regulations for Electrical Installations, Electrical Supply Regulations 1998, Regulations dealing with Consumer Installations, British Standards and Code of Practice and Construction Industry Safety Regulations
- Learn to set out and undertake detailed electrical installations tests and verification and complete the necessary test documentation
- Learn to interpret design information and client specifications
- Learn to produce appropriate site reports, detailing progress and areas of delay
- Engage fully in all aspects of the learning process in order to become fully qualified and be able to undertake electrical installation work without immediate supervision
- Adhere to the Kier Group Health and Safety rules and wear appropriate PPE
- Attend nominated training courses and centres in order to "learn" the Theory of Electrical Principals
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Holder of a Full Clean UK Driving Licence
- Hold relevant CSCS Card
- Hold additional relevant qualifications with experience in the job role and/or can demonstrate progression
