You will have a great opportunity to work for a public sector - initially on a 5 month contract for an architectural technician. This is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your career in an exciting organisation as an architectural technician.
Job Role
You will be responsible for preparing computer generated drawings, and undertake the production of technical drawings using knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
You will undertake site surveys and measured drawings, enabling you to produce draft and detailed construction specifications.
You will be responsible for the preparation of documents for the submission of Planning and Building control.
You will be responsible for technical accountability ensuring tasks are planned, managed and executed effectively. You will be responsible for practical research and investigation carried out effectively for new buildings and existing buildings for PPM and capital works.
You will adhere to and promote the use of CAD systems, with particular emphasis on notation and formatting, and make sure all company policy and procedures are set up.
You will as Architectural technician assist in solving complex design issues through the use of sustainable and quality design solutions.
You will be responsible for enforcing appropriate Health and Safety procedures and precautions, especially the CDM regulations.
This role is a 37.5 hour per week role. This role is for an initial 5 month period but could extended
Person
You will be experienced in a similar role as an architectural technician.
You will be confident in managing projects in a public sector environment.
You will be experienced in using packages such as:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft office products
You must have an ability to organise and manipulate electronic drawing files
You will be able to produce sketch plans, using your own initiative and knowledge of construction techniques, and you must have knowledge of sustainable design techniques.
You will be capable of dealing with colleagues at all levels including projects officers to Heads of departments.
