Principal Building Control Surveyor (£24.10 paye or £30.00 through Umbrella) Based

You will be working for a Local Government department giving you an ideal opportunity to enhance your CV and career

Job Role

You will be the principal Surveyor responsible for managing and motivating a team, to manage a portfolio of all types of property maintenance and construction for the whole of the housing stock.

You will assist in the development and formulation of maintenance investment programmes and budgets, meaning you will be accountable for the specification and delivery of an approved works programme.

You will provide a surveying and technical advisory service including inspections and reporting on the condition of all property.

You will be responsible for preparing estimates and obtaining tenders and be responsible for the supervision of works.

You will make sure that all health and safety requirements and statutory regulations are adhered to at all times.

You will deliver the programme of work within the contract area ensuring that costs and budgets are adhered to.

You will ensure all documents and specifications are prepared in accordance with the organisations policies.

Person

You will have significant experience at a senior surveying level and you must have relevant experience within the building industry.

You will have supervisory skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will have project management experience and be able to manage your own workloads

You will have excellent knowledge of surveying principles and techniques of project management.

You must have relevant qualifications with a minimum Level 5 and it would be desirable that you be a member of a recognised institute for example CIOB
