We are working on behalf of my client, a major contractor to source an Environmental Advisor to work initially on a project in Exeter, Devon. This is to support increased passenger capacity and associated rolling stock to the south-west.

This contractor has been awarded the detailed design and construct contract for the works comprising:

Site clearance

A 3-road maintenance building with workshops and stores

3 storey office and welfare facilities for depot engineering and train crew operations personnel

Automatic train-wash with associated buildings, plant and infrastructure

All new and modified Permanent Way including switches, crossings, turntables in shed and buffers

Fluids storage and delivery/disposal systems, associated plant buildings and bunding.

The works will mobilise to site in March 2018 with completion planned for summer 2019.

Ideally you will be located between Wiltshire and Devon areas.

Your role: The work will involve helping to discharge planning consents, applying for consents, integrating environmental issues into project documents, waste management, managing specialists, giving toolbox talks, measuring and target reporting (amongst other normal duties associated with an Environmental Advisor), all with support from the Environmental Manager.

The job holder may be expected to undertake further training and develop competence in noise monitoring. Project audits are likely to be required and the job holder may be expected to be support the audit schedule by training and acting as an auditor. At this level the person would be expected to take part in CEEQUAL assessments or similar.

As Environmental Advisor you must be able to commit to a flexible workplace, changing construction environment and occasional out-of-hours attendance
