Location - Within 1 hours' commute of Stepps, Glasgow
This is an exciting opportunity to join Kier Construction Scotland & North-East, reporting to the Regional Business Development Manager. Based in Stepps, Glasgow, the successful applicant will assist with business development, system reporting/management, events organisation and other work winning measures within the Scottish team. There will be a requirement to travel to our other offices in Aberdeen, Inverness and possibly Newcastle as well as the offices of clients and consultants for meetings throughout Scotland.
Tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Client and consultant contact and liaison
- Carry out research into private and public sector spending plans and target sectors to provide a better understanding of opportunity and client requirements
- Assisting in the setting up and managing/running/coordinating of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems and processes and preparation of reports
- Co-ordination of business development reporting and measures
- Event management, including corporate hospitality, awards ceremonies, site events, etc.
- Management of our intranet and social media sites - co-ordinating the data inputted, collating newsletters and blogs etc, preparing articles and contributing to in-house magazines etc.
- Liaising with external public relations consultant and internal communications team
- Assisting in the production and collation of marketing collateral
- General administrative responsibilities as and when required
Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience of the construction industry is desirable, but not essential
- Diploma or degree in marketing, sales or business is desirable but not essential
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills are essential
- Excellent grammar and independent writing skills
- Experience in a similar role is essential; including business development, sales and/or marketing
- Excellent customer service manner
- Good general conversational and sales skills
- Confident and outgoing personality
- Ability to handle detail and be organised (as well as organising others)
- Able to work in a team environment
- Self-motivating and able to work under own initiative
